Hi,
Something quite magical happens when you do that thing you’ve been putting off for fear of <insert your fear here>. The Universe responds. We're in constant relationship with the world around us, seen and unseen, felt and not-yet felt and when that momentum begins, it’s a beautiful thing.
The caveat here is that you must go first. Then, The Universe responds, people respond, there’s a shift, you are changed, it might be subtle but you will never be the same again.
I had coffee with a mate earlier on today who was putting off publishing his podcast despite having already recorded the first 5 episodes. “We can’t listen to it while it’s inside your computer” I said. It’s (ego)selfish to not do that thing that sets your soul alight. I get it, I let fear take the wheel way more often than I care to admit, I’m often afraid. But we need to and we need you to. We need your art – your messy, first draft, imperfect, not-good-enough, nervous, doubtful, tentative, uncertain art.
I’m listening to and watching a live show from Fred Again whilst I’m typing this. I’ve been diving deep into his music and process lately. There’s a felt sense of authenticity, of generosity in the music he makes and how he shares it. It’s honest, it’s raw. His socials are far from curated which makes it all the more relatable. And it’s working –from warehouses to sold out arena shows, we’re lapping it up. We’re thirsty for art that makes us feel again. His music hits different. His tracks are snapshots of ‘Actual Life’ and are inspired by relationships, poetry, people – it’s beautiful. In this interview he quotes Brian Eno saying to him, “You can’t learn anything from a piece of music that’s unreleased.”
Below a few things I’ve been sitting on for too long for fear of putting them out there, for fear of being judged, for it not being ready or good enough etc., these are a few things that matter to me:
If you’re a man or know one who might benefit from being part of of a community of other men who inspire, challenge and support each other to be and do better – join the next Men’s Circle. It’ll be the last one I’m running for a while, get in while you can.
If you’re someone who desires deeper connections through more heartfelt and honest conversations – conversations that move you, that challenge and change you, then you might be interested in this Series of Extraordinary Events. Join the waitlist and I’ll update you on what’s happening when and where. Things are shaping up beautifully already with our first event almost organising itself as if by magic. I’ve got a feeling it is, indeed, magic.
I have a group coaching program for men that will begin in April. Register your interest here if you’re keen, this is going to change lives.
And finally, if you’re feeling lost and lacking inspiration, direction, meaning and purpose, this might be of interest to you. I ran this workshop last year and feel like it’s time to do it again and to go deeper this time.
Until next week, will you share what you’re creating? I’d love to see, hear, read, feel it.
Michael
P.S. If you made it this far without clicking one of the links above, make it this one. It’s only a few minutes, it’s worth it.
