Let’s Dance
The music is playing but we’re deaf to its sound, it’s hard to hear, buried deep underground. A melody once clear not heard by an ear drowned out by the sound of its very own fear.
It’s the sound of no and our fear to go.
I’m not interested in what you know, as much as what you’ll do with what you know, and whether you’ll be brave enough to go.
We need you to. We need leaders too, people like you — people who trust that what they’re feeling is true, who lead with a feeling that’s inspired by you, and for you and what you can do.
Not selfish greed that’s all about me, but leadership by you, for us and for we.
We need you to create with what you’ve got rather than dwell upon who you are not, to use what you have and who you truly are, to create something for us all.
Don’t shrink with the fear of who you think they say you are and allow your inspiration, to dissipate, don’t let your desire and hope abate.
I’m hoping you’ll have the courage to bare that you don’t know and yet still declare that you’re willing to go, willing to show that it’s not what you know but that you’re willing to flow so that together we all go to a place where the embers that glow remind us of a fire that still burns in us, always there, patiently flickering, waiting for a wind to blow. To light us up and reignite, and shine light on the darkness of no and the potential of what might…
Are you willing to go to that place beyond what’s known, a step past familiar and all that can be shown. Will you go beyond what you know and into a space where you grow, not by learning more from what someone else’s has to say, but by learning the language of your heart and how it’s inviting you, to play.
To play today, now in this moment with the possibilities it presents, rather than think
too much about whether or not it makes any sense.
To allow the time and space to come to know that feeling of grace and to feel it’s hand guiding you through this unfamiliar time and place, with a most gentle touch, a soft breeze upon your face. That breeze a hint of the wind that’ll fan those flames into a fire that burns ablaze, a lighthouse even for the darkest of days.
To burn to allow what needs clearing, surrender the trying and allow what needs dying, guided by feeling, then flying.
To fly, are you willing to let go of what you’re holding onto, and allow what you’re growing into to come to you, and allow what you’ve come to know to be true to grow with you, to hold it gently as it passes right through you instead of holding on like it’s something you desperately cling to?
Will you have the courage to create despite the fact you don’t know how it’ll go?
Will you trust that you’re guided and allow your magic to flow, cause we’re ready for you and your show?
Rather than be paralysed with fear of the mistakes you will make, will you face that fear with courage and take, a chance. To make, something new something that matters simply because it’s born of you, especially special, just because it’s from you?
That thing you thought you needed to know before you go, can only be found after you let go, then go, and allow the space for grace to do its thing and show, you treasure beyond measure more than you thought you could possibly know.
And it’s pleasure that comes from doing that thing you once were most afraid of, as you step in the ring instead of swing, you dance. The fight becomes, a romance, as you lower your guard and take the chance. And dance.
If you listen carefully you’ll hear that sound, from within, that underground melody waiting for you to be found. Will you dance to that sound?
So go within you must and with courage you trust that this is it, that the moment is now, it’s all we’ve got and it’s all we need, not to achieve to win or succeed having figured out how, there’s no figuring out how there’s only feeling and trusting now.
Will you have the courage to say, fuck it, I may not know but I’m willing to go, to write to sing, to make, to move, to ask to learn and grow, to say yes, I will instead of no, I won’t go.
Will you let go of what you think you know and the need to be right, in order to grow and become that which you hoped you might?
I hope so, because we need you to, we need people like you,
to take the chance…
The music is playing, so let’s dance?
