I want it all, that's all
[Day 4]
The world
And everything it offers
Not for me to keep, to stash in my coffers
but to know people and go places
witness the beauty of their embraces
To commit and go all in, stop playing small
That’s what I want, or nothing at all
To take risks and be brave
See people and hear stories
the kind you inscribe on your grave
of loss and the occasional glories
See faces, feel hearts
Honour endings and fresh starts
Be enchanted by moments, allow them to move me
Be humbled by awe, blessed serendipity
The kiss of sun on my face and taste of wine on my tongue
To move with rhythm and the melody of a song being sung
And discover secrets and fears of the chid that appears
When stories of truth reveal the tenderness of our fears
I can’t live a live prescribed, I’ve tried
My story will be unfolding, lived in real time
It’s wild and free and unpredictable, aren’t we?
Life, a documentation of a soul alight
Of what took breath away and kept us up at night
I’ll take the unknown over regret of living a lie
Save meaning for making for later
surrendering why
Let’s be guided by the floating feather
And we’ll purge the pain of grief together
That’s all
That’s everything
That’ll do me for now
I’ll leave the rest
For someone else to figure out how
